| Operation |
At rest a magnetic piston that rides directly in the flow stream is held at the inlet port by magnetic repulsion. As flow is introduced, the piston is displaced and the flow travels across the face of the piston then turns 90 degrees to the outlet port. The greater the flow, the further the piston is displaced and the larger the through orifice becomes. At a given flow rate the piston reaches equilibrium. A third magnet mounted externally on the body senses the piston's position and mechanicaly activates the microswitch. The switch assembly may be adjusted to sense the various piston positions and thus varying the actuation point.
