Mechanically, Model 77 has no external moving parts, no springs or cams, and no reed element, so there is nothing to wear or fail. Its contact chamber is potted and sealed from moisture or contaminants and is completely protected in a one-piece stainless steel housing, including the sensing face. Unlike magnetic reed switches, they are not susceptible to contact teasing, chatter, bounce, or welding.

Electrically, Model 77 delivers the most flexibility in the industry. Its environmentally sealed dry contacts are rated 4amp/120VAC, 3amp/24VDC, and 0.5 amp/125VDC and is suitable for both high and low electrical loads. The 77 can be wired AC or DC, N/O or N/C, consumes no power to operate, and has no current leakage or voltage drop.

Environmentally, Model 77 leads the industry with global UL, and CSA certifications for use in explosion-proof / flame-proof, non-incendive, intrinsically safe, and general purpose applications. In addition, Model 77 is suitable for extreme temperatures (-40°C to 204°C), extreme pressures (up to 10,000 psi), and extreme depths (down to 7010 meters).
