Igbo
Igbo is a national language of Nigeria. It is spoken by about one out
of six Nigerians (17,000,000). It is a Niger-Congo language spoken in Abia
State, Anambra State, Igbo-Eze, Nsukka, Isi Uzo, Igbo Etiti, Uzo Uwani, Anambra,
Udi, Enugu, Nkanu, Eze Agu, Awka, Njikoko, Awgu, Onitsha, Aguatu, Idemili, Nnewi,
Ihala LGA's; Imo State; Rivers State, Ikwerre-Etche, Bonny, and Ahoada LGA's;
and Edo State, Oshimili, Anoicha, Ika, and Ndokwa LGA's. There are many
dialects. The main trade language of Anambra and Imo States; the official
language in the southeast.
