Samoan
Samoan is the language spoken by the inhabitants of Western Samoa and American Samoa. The language is related to Fijian, Malay, Indonesian, Tongan, Maori, Hawaiian, various Philippine languages and many other languages. There are about 375,000 speakers in; American Samoa, Western Samoa, New Zealand, Hawaii, Fiji and mainland United States.

It has been said that "From Fiji, groups left to settle the nearby islands of Rotuma, Tonga and Samoa, and from there they spread out to inhabit the rest of Polynesia, from Hawaii in the north to Rapanui (Easter Island) in the east, to Aotearoa (New Zealand) to the south." The languages these people speak are grouped as the Austronesian language family.
