Soga
The language of the Soga people is called Soga (or "Lusoga" in the language, meaning "Language of the Soga people"). Their language has been overshadowed by its cousin Ganda (Luganda) which has become the primary trade language across the eastern, central and southern regions of Uganda.  It is a Niger-Congo language spoken by 1,5000,000 in Uganda and Kenya.

The Soga, which are part of the Bantu people originating in central Africa,  of Uganda are among the largest of 43 ethnic groups living in Uganda. Their traditional land is located in a wedge-shaped area east and north of Lake Victoria in the districts of Jinja, Mukono and Kamuli. Every town in Uganda has its complement of Soga involved in government service, trading, manufacturing, or other economic opportunities.
