Uyghur
Uyghur, which is also spelled Uighur
and which is pronounced "we-gar", is a race, tribe or culture with a
homeland in the areas of Kashgar, Urumqi and Turfan, China and in neighboring
areas of the former Soviet Union. There are 7 - 8 million speakers, with
the majority being located in China. There are other Uyghur speakers in;
Kazakhstan, Kyrghyzstan, Tajikstan, Uzbekistan, Afganistan &
Turkey.
