Votian
Votian (Vod, Vote, Vodian) is a
Uralic language which is very nearly extinct. The Votians, who number only
a few dozen, live in an area of Russia around St. Petersburg. As recently
as the middle of the 19th century, there were still around 5,000 Votians.
The language has never been written.
