Zulu
The language Zulu, or isiZulu, is understood by people from the Cape to Zimbabwe. Zulu is also the written language of the Northern Nguni. It's also a tonal language. Refer to some of the links for more history. Speakers: Mostly Africans. 22,4 % of the South African population use it as their home language. Nearly 9,000,000 total speakers.
