Laureate TM Series serial output transmitters can be jumpered for two signal levels: RS232 or RS485. Two serial protocols are selectable in software: Modbus or Laurel's Custom ASCII.Modbus protocol operation is fully compliant with the Modbus Over Serial Line Specification V1.0 (2002) for 2-wire, half-duplex connection. This includes RTU or ASCII modes, addressing of up to 32 devices per RS485 line Laurel’s Laurel ASCII protocol allows up to 31 Laureate devices to be addressed on the same RS485 data line. It is simpler than the Modbus protocol and is recommended when all devices are Laureates. It also allows use of Laurel’s data logging software.

Laureate Modbus I/O load cell or microvolt input transmitters are designed for use with load cells, strain gauges and microvolt input signals where exceptional sensitivity and stability are required. A most sensitive full-scale input range ±20 mV can be scaled to ±99,999 counts. The selected input range for the full 0-20 mA output span can be as wide as ±99,999 counts or as narrow as 150 counts, limited only by considerations of electrical noise and time constants of the programmable moving average digital filter. DIN Rail Mounting. Laureate transmitters are housed in a 35 mm DIN rail case that is only 22.5 mm (0.89") thick. Signal connections are via detachable screw clamp plug connectors

Square root extraction is standard.

The serial output of Laureate AC phase angle transmitter indicates the lead or lag in degrees from 0º to 360º between two periodic signals having the same period. Phase angle measurement is commonly used with AC power from 50 Hz to 400 Hz. Phase angle needs to be set to zero to synchronize AC generators. It also applies to the triggering of SCRs and Triacs for power control. The phase angle between AC current and voltage determines power factor. The Laureate phase angle meter and transmitter provide exceptionally fast response and high accuracy for low frequencies, such as AC line frequency.

Stopwatch Input Modbus or Laurel ASCII Protocol Serial I/O Transmitter Resolution to 0.2 µs. Duration to 999,999 hrs. DIN Rail mounted, digitally programmable. The Laureate TM Series serial output stopwatch transmitter performs all of the functions of the Laureate panel mount stopwatch, except for the display. The data retrieved via serial commands can be the time of individual events (Item #1) which produce start and stop pulses, or accumulated time of multiple events (Item #2). The highest resolution is 0.2 µs, making the transmitter ideal for fast events. The longest timing interval is 999,999 hrs. For long events, the output is updated continuously during timing. Duty Cycle Input Modbus or Laurel ASCII Protocol Serial I/O Transmitter Transmits ON or OFF period in percent. DIN Rail mounted, digitally programmable transmitter tracks ON or OFF period as a percentage from 0% to 100% of total period of repetitive pulse trains. The transmitter determines duty cycle by averaging an integral number of periods over a gate time, which is selectable from 10 ms to 199.99 s. The same signal is applied to Channels A and B. The meter divides the average pulse width by the period between pulses and expresses this ratio in percent. A resolution of 1%, 0.1% or 0.01% is selectable. By selecting leading or falling pulse edges, the ON or OFF duty cycle can be transmitted
